Canyoning at Rio Pitrisconi

Rio Pitrisconi is one of the most spectacular waterways in Gallura and flows through the fascinating Monte Nieddu massif, a wild and scarcely inhabited area located in the inland region of San Teodoro.

This impressive mountain system, formed by ancient granite rocks shaped by time, reaches an altitude of 970 meters at the summit of Punta Majore. A landscape characterized by spectacular granite walls, deep valleys, rocky ridges and untouched nature, where water and stone have created breathtaking scenery.

In the heart of this territory lies the Rio Pitrisconi canyon, considered one of the most beautiful and well-known canyoning routes in Sardinia. Its particular position within the massif allows the stream to receive a constant water supply, preserving its charm throughout much of the year and creating the perfect environment for an experience in close contact with nature.

During the descent, the river crosses a spectacular granite gorge where the power of water has shaped natural slides, waterfalls, crystal-clear pools and deep rock formations over thousands of years. Every corner of the canyon tells the story of nature’s power, creating a unique landscape suspended between the silence of the mountains and the movement of the water.

🚙 How to reach Pitrisconi

The Rio Pitrisconi canyon is the perfect route for those who want to experience canyoning for the first time.

Our adventure begins in Straulas, a small village in the municipality of San Teodoro, on the eastern side of the Monte Nieddu massif.

From here, aboard our 4x4 vehicles, we will follow a scenic dirt road that takes approximately 20 minutes to reach the forest ranger’s shelter. Here we will prepare the equipment, put on the wetsuit and, after a short 5-minute walk, we will reach the entrance of the canyon.

💦 What can you do at Pitrisconi?

The Rio Pitrisconi canyoning route offers the perfect combination of adventure and fun, with waterfalls, natural pools and water slides surrounded by the untouched nature of Gallura.

During the excursion, you will experience rappelling sections, gorge crossings and jumps from different heights, always in complete safety and accompanied by experienced guides.

The duration of the experience varies depending on the number of participants and the physical ability of the group.

At the end of the canyon, a short 30-minute hike is required to return to the starting point.

🥾 Trekking shoes can be rented for an additional cost of €10.
The rental request must be made at least one day before the excursion.
