The high mountains of granite reach a height of 970 meters (Punta Majore) and give us a mountain environment rich of rocky peaks, rugged ridges and river ideal for canyoning.

Rio Pitrisconi is certainly the most important and spectacular watercourse that crosses Monte Nieddu. Its particular position in the middle of the massif allows it to receive a constant flow of water all year round. The river is also ideal for beginners who want to approach canyoning for the first time.

Our adventure starts from the village of Straulas located in the municipality of San Teodoro. The main access to canyoning is in fact from the east side of the massif. From here with our 4wd we will drive along the long dirt road that leads in about 20 minutes to the ‘Stazzo Pitrisconi’ (forest guard house). Here we will park the car, dress the wetsuit, equipment and then we will intercept the beginning of the canyon in 5 minutes.

The canyon course is full of spectacular waterfalls, natural pools and water slides that will make our day unique and exciting. It will also be possible to dive from different heights in total safety. The canyoning in Rio Pitrisconi has a variable duration based on the number of the group and its athleticism. At the end of the canyon we will take a panoramic trail that in  about 30 minutes will get back to the 4wd.
